Mariline was born in Utrecht, Netherlands, and holds a Master's degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor's degree in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Utrecht. She worked at the University of Tilburg as an editor/translator for ten years. She mostly edited and translated applied research reports in English and Dutch.
In 1999, Mariline moved to the U.S. (Los Angeles) and stayed there for ten years. She obtained a paralegal degree in litigation from UCLA. In addition, she studied French and Spanish for several years at Santa Monica College, California.
In 2009, Mariline moved back to Utrecht. She taught Dutch to non-native speakers at Bureau Inburgering of the City of Utrecht for one year. Currently she devotes all her time to her own company FTS.
Recent clients of FTS include TNO, the University of Tilburg, Van Grafhorst Notarissen, Vakbond De Unie, RAND Corporation. Mariline also teaches weekly English and French classes to high school students, conversational English to adults, and private Dutch classes to non-native speakers.
